LionHeart Clays
Simplifying in 2026
The greatest joys in life are often the simplest...time spent with family and friends, the pursuit of personal interests and passions, and focusing on the things that you enjoy - the things that make you happy. Simple.

As LionHeart Clays enters our third year, we're simplifying our business, while still finding creative and new methods for crafting our wares. We've decided to focus our efforts on the Renaissance faires and festivals we love. We get to see old friends, and meet amazing people every time we attend, and you just don't get that personal connection by selling products on a website. We've decided to go offline with our sales efforts.

We'll continue to update our gallery as we prepare for our 2026 Renaissance season. If you see something in the gallery that speaks to you that you'd like to make a purchase, please reach out through our 'contacts' page. If we don't have the piece in stock, there's a good chance we can create something for you that is similar.

Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you at Faire!

About Us
The long and winding road...
LionHeart Clays Pottery Studio is the realization of a decades-long dream that began with a nerdy, frizzy-haired teenager in a high school ceramics class. After college, a stint working in sales, grad school, and a thirty-one year career teaching accounting and finance to high school students, the dream is alive again. New career - new direction. I have always loved the hands-on creative process involved in creating unique pieces of pottery, bringing together wheel-thrown elements with hand sculpting, and unique glazing techniques.

With the support of my amazing wife Wendy and daughter Clara, encouragement of friends and extended family, and companionship and watchful eye of studio cat Splinter, LionHeart Clays was born in the basement and garage of our residence, with the goal of selling at local art fairs, artist markets, Renaissance festivals, and online.

I'd also like to give a sincere shout out to my high school art teacher, Mr. Clint Gjerde, for initiating and inspiring the passion, and to Ann Manor of Meadowong Studios for rekindling and encouraging the creative fire thirty-some years later!
